Chuẩn bị các nguyên liệu. Ngâm nguyên miếng tàu hũ ky, nấm mèo, nấm mỡ vào nước ấm rồi rửa sạch. Nấm mèo và nấm mỡ cắt sợi.
Đậu hũ trắng trụng sơ qua nước sôi rồi cắt theo chiều dọc làm 4 miếng. Lấy một cái tô lớn cho 4 miếng đậu vào. Lấy chén nhỏ cho vào 1 muỗng canh nước tương, 1 muỗng cà phê đường, 1 muỗng cà phê hạt nêm, 1/2 muỗng cà phê ngũ vị hương và trộn đều tất cả. Sau đó đổ hỗn hợp vào tô đậu hũ ướp 5 phút là được.
Xếp miếp tàu hũ ky thẳng ra cho miếng đậu hũ lên cho nấm mèo nấm mỡ lên trên trải đều tiếp đến cho miếng đậu thứ hai lên trên cuôn tròn lại từ trong ra ngoài rồi.
Đem hấp khoảng 10 phút. Trong khi chờ hấp ta làm hỗn hợp để phết lên da 1 muỗng cà phê mật ong, 1 muỗng canh nước tương, 1 muỗng cà phê rượu mai quế lô, 1 muỗng cà phê giấm đỏ cho vào chảo nhỏ nấu cho sác lai đừng để cháy sau khi hấp xong lấy ra phết hỗn hợp vừa nấu xong bắt chảo chống dính cho ít dầu rồi chiên áp chảo cho vàng đều.
Dùng nước hấp và nước ướp miếng đậu cho lên bếp nấu sôi nêm nếm lại cho vừa làm nước sốt vịt. Trình bày ta cắt từng khoanh vịt chay bắc kinh sắp ra dĩa cùng với nước sốt ăn với bánh bao chay hay bánh hỏi đều ngon.
